the legs go first

what little hair remains

is gray

no, silver

years in the desert sun

face creased like Grand Canyon

me, "weathered" not old

years ago hiking

up and down the hills

now, down only

dance the night away

whew

tiring

naps restore my mind

so please don't mind

my afternoon silences

hearing well

but

sometimes not listening
